Dynamics in Polymer Systems

Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy allows the characterization of various types of motions in polymers. The dynamics which can be observed include backbone motion, side-chain motion, and phase transitions. Our extremely-sensitive narrow-band DRS experiment enables our group to perform these measurements on small quantities of novel polymers. Much of this research is done in collaboration with faculty from the Chemistry Department and Chemical Engineering Department at NCSU.
